I WANT THAT : 2013 RMIT Gold & Silversmithing Jewellery Auction

This is your chance to pick up an exceptional contemporary jewellery piece at a good price.
RMIT gold and silversmithing students are hosting an auction of over 80 jewellery pieces by students, recent graduates and leading contemporary artists. All proceeds from the auction go towards funding the 2013 RMIT Object based Practice Gold & Silversmithing Graduate Catalogue.

To be held at the Mercy bar + eatery in Flinders Lane on Wednesday 7th August, it will be a fun night of intense bidding for exciting work.

On offer will be a diverse selection of quality, original and innovative jewellery including rings, pendants, brooches and earrings made by RMIT students and established artists such as Mark Edgoose, Kirsten Haydon, Nick Bastin and Katherine Bowman - and some lucky person will secure Jan Donaldson's work 'Mon Enfant'.

To whet your appetite and help plan your auction strategy, the catalogue of work is online at www.rmitgoldandsilversmithingauction2013.blogspot.com This will be continually added to and updated until the night

Preview the jewellery from 5.30pm before the auction commences at 6.30pm. There will also be a silent auction from 5:30-8.30pm - an opportunity to sneak up on an excellent piece by writing down your bids in front of each item.

You will be entertained with live music during the short intermission – just enough time for your credit card to cool down - before the second round of fierce bidding begins. The auction concludes around 10.30 but you can stay on at Mercy 'til late.
