RMIT gold and silversmithing students are hosting an auction of over 80
jewellery pieces by students, recent graduates and leading contemporary
artists. All proceeds from the auction go towards funding the 2013 RMIT
Object based Practice Gold & Silversmithing
Graduate Catalogue.
To be held at the Mercy bar + eatery in Flinders Lane on Wednesday 7th August, it will be a fun night of intense bidding for exciting work.
On offer will be a diverse selection of quality, original and innovative
jewellery including rings, pendants, brooches and earrings made by RMIT
students and established artists such as Mark Edgoose, Kirsten Haydon,
Nick Bastin and Katherine Bowman - and some
lucky person will secure Jan Donaldson's work 'Mon Enfant'.

your appetite and help plan your auction strategy, the catalogue of work

Preview the jewellery from 5.30pm before the auction commences at
6.30pm. There will also be a silent auction from 5:30-8.30pm - an
opportunity to sneak up on an excellent piece by writing down your bids
in front of each item.
You
will be entertained with live music during the short intermission –
just enough time for your credit card to cool down - before the second
round of fierce bidding begins. The auction concludes
around 10.30 but you can stay on at Mercy 'til late.
